  5. Plasma and Localised Skin Tightening • A common misconception is that are is carbonised without giving up any heat in the surrounding tissues. (Marketing) • This is not true because once you apply the arc the area gets red around the area within 30 minutes to one hour. • The sign of the skin burn are evident over the following days, especially after plasma eyelid tightening. • It is clear that heat is given up to the surrounding tissues. • Remember that the skin tightening is caused by the heat released in the skin. This can be done with lasers, plasma etc.

  10. Plasma and Localised Skin Tightening

  11. Plasma and Localised Skin Tightening

  12. Plasma and Localised Skin Tightening In the spot operation the amount of heat the skin is proportional to: • The duration of the arc. • The intensity of the arc. • The distance between the spots.

  14. Plasma and Localised Skin Tightening

  15. Plasma and Localised Skin Tightening Lastly the intensity of the overall treatment is also associated to the area covered by the treatment. To summarise in the spot mode the overall treatment intensity is determined by: • Spot duration. • Intensity of the arc. • Distance between the spots. • Area covered by the treatment.
