  1. Procedures for Mrs. Lawson’s Classroom WELCOME!

  2. Expectations • Each day you come to class prepared to learn, and I’ll be prepared to teach. • Bring all supplies needed to class, including your colored pencils. • Sharpen your pencils before the bell rings. In emergency situations, such as your lead breaking, you are expected to get up and sharpen your pencil without disrupting class.

  3. Expectations • Do not talk while I do!!! Do not talk if I am using the phone, or if a guest comes to our door. If they come into the classroom, continue working if we are in groups.

  4. Expectations • When I ask a question, everyone raises their hand. 1 finger up means I KNOW THE ANSWER! 2 means I MAY KNOW. 3 fingers means I HAVE NO IDEA!

  5. Expectations • Do not throw away trash during class. This is permitted at the beginning before the bell and at the end of class after the bell. • Recycle as much as possible. • Only 3 emergency bathroom breaks are permitted per six weeks. Go to the bathroom between classes!

  6. Expectations • If you drop it pick it up, if you get it out, put it away, if you open it close it! Take care of your classroom and school! • I dismiss you, not the bell! Do not pack up until I dismiss you!

  7. Grades • Study, always! • Keep your folder up to date daily! • Grades may be taken for correct responses, or given for participation. • Tests are 60% of your grade. Quizzes are 30% and homework is 20%. • Homework is to be held until called for.

  8. Bell ringers • The test practice and vocabulary practice are to be started immediately after you sharpen your pencils and are seated. You should be in your seat and quietly started on these activities when the bell rings. • Keep these on a single sheet of paper labeled with the days of the week. They will be graded on Fridays!
