  1. Highway Operations in India to Integrate New Technological Innovations None of the sectors in India are immune to the various disruptive changes in this current tech-driven world. Technology has been a key factor in driving away the inefficiencies and promotes the streamlined and effortless work flow. The only factor that the country is currently working on is to provide with a valid and sustainable system that can help to promote the notion of Digital India further. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is paving the path for technology to revamp the Highway Network of India. This autonomous organisation has introduced their Highway Operations division which is being headed by Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, CGM (IT and Highway Operations) of NHAI. Mr Akhilesh Srivastava is often times popularly regarded as the “one-time project delivery man of India”. He has been an immense contributor to the developmental aspects of the national highways around India and is currently working on the implementation of drones and geospatial technology, under the guidance of ISRO, to ensure real-time monitoring of the ongoing highway projects. Apart from this all, he has also been encouraging the youth of India to undergo the training for these projects because of the upcoming hike in the employment opportunities in this sector. In order to pay recognition to his achievements and contribution to the construction industry in India, he was awarded by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) at the 10th Vishwakarma Award with the Achievement Award in the Public Officer category. He was primarily awarded for his work encircling the concepts of e-MB, e-Tender, Wayside Amenities and Electronic Toll Collection (ETC). The award ceremony was conducted on March 07th 2018 at the India Habitat Center, New Delhi. Mr Akhilesh Srivastava has been invited to the 4th Annual Roads and Highways summit conducted by the International Roads Federation of Geneva. He has been cordially invited to be part of the distinguished panellists at the event which is going to commence from April 09th – April 11th 2018 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore.
