HITSP approach to interoperability stacks HITSP pursues a flexible and pragmatic approach : Strive to specify a complete stack whenever possible (semantical content, messaging/document structure, transport) Recognize that there is no accepted unifying approach in Healthcare; nor in the general IT industry In specific cases, leaves transport level unspecified Strive to reduce variety, while recognizing the prevalent approaches
