  2. Goal & Objectives The goal of the Safe Harbour: Respect for All program is to work together to create welcoming and inclusive workplaces and communities. Objectives of the workshop: To examine assumptions bias, privilege and stereotypes To explore issues of exclusion / inclusion To identify steps that we can take a stand against discrimination and assist someone in need of a temporary refuge from harassment or who is in distress To provide tips for creating a welcoming workplace environment

Dimensions of DiversitySafe Harbour: Respect for All Respect for All Cultures / Ethnicities Respect for All Ages Respect for All Socioeconomic Backgrounds Respect for All Abilities Respect for All Sexual Orientations Respect for All Genders Respect for All Appearances Respect for All Faiths / Religions

  4. Safe Harbour-certified Locations sign on to: Equitable Treatment for All Welcoming all clients and/or customers in a respectful manner. If a concern is expressed regarding a lack of respectful treatment, employers and staff take steps to address it. An Immediate Safe PlaceProviding an immediate safe place for someone experiencing discrimination in or near the worksite which may include a place to sit, a glass of water, a phone to use, and access to a list of resources. Prepared Employees and WorksitesPreparing all managers and staff to implement these commitments. Safe Harbour Commitments

  5. Respect for All – Pass It On! Having the Safe Harbour designation means that you are publicly demonstrating your organization’s commitment to respectful treatment for all customers, clients, and staff and a welcoming environment for diversity.
