  6. Industrial Workers of the World Union led by Eugene Debs, Against WWI

  7. Eugene Debs Leader of the Industrial Workers of the World, ran for President 5 times as a socialist party candidate

  8. Espionage and Sedition Acts Law set up to discourage spies and those that would criticize the government during WWI.

  9. Schenck vs. US, 1919 Charles Schenck is arrested for violating the Espionage and Sedition Acts, he encourages people that are drafted to refuse to enlist, Supreme Court says that freedom of speech is not protected when the nation is at war

  10. Palmer Raids Led search for suspected Communist among immigrants and Union membership among other places

  11. Sacco and Vanzetti Two Italian born anarchist are accused of robbing a pay clerk, they are convicted on circumstantial evidence mainly because they are immigrants

  12. Ku Klux Klan Enjoyed a period of power following WWI, anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic, resisted Civil Rights for African Americans

  13. Self-determination Countries are allowed to decide for themselves what type of government they will have

  14. Washington Naval Conference Agreement between US, Great Britain, France, Japan to limit the size of their Navies in an attempt to insure that there would not be a WWII

  15. Dawes Plan US agrees to loan money to Germany to help with reparations
