  1. TERRA ROSSA CABERNET SAUVIGNON VINTAGE 2005 Winemaker notes: Deep crimson red colour with bright red tint Complex nose of sweet cassis, black olive and a touch of seaweed balanced with fine French oak aromas. The palate is rich and generous with roundness and vibrant fruit in what was an excellent vintage in Coonawarra. The vintage was warm, dry and early for ripening. Elegant suede-like tannins support the medium to full bodied persistent mouth-feel. Made for extended cellaring for 15 or more years. Decant before serving. Varietal composition Cabernet Sauvignon 93.5%, Merlot 3.9%, Petit Verdot 2.6% Bottling Date March 2007 Fermentation Method Maceration in 8 tonne static stainless steel fermenters Fermentation Time 7 days Yeast type AWRI 796 Skin Contact Time 10-30 days Barrel Origin 100% French Oak Barriques Darguad & Jaegle, Seguin Moreau, Taransaud & Sirugue Time in barrel 20months MLF 100% Alcohol 14.7% Residual Sugar 0.46 g/L Acidity (TA) 7.3g/L pH 3.4 Viticulture Region Coonawarra Yield 3.0tonnes/acre Date of Harvest 7-8th April Vine Age 20 years Clone Reynella Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Soil Type Terra Rossa over Limestone PARKER COONAWARRA ESTATE - P.O. BOX 305 COONAWARRA SOUTH AUSTRALIA - www.parkercoonawarraestate.com.au Parker Coonawarra Estate Terra Rossawines reflect the stylistic approach to creating beautiful wines from the rich terra rossa soils of the region. The unique micro climate of Parker vineyards located in the southern part of Coonawarra, being less prone to frost with longer ripening on the vine, impart unique qualities in the wine. Integral to the style and structure is 7 day warm fermentation followed by maceration on skins. Aged in new and one year old French oak, the result is fruit expression and elegance in structure to add complexity and cellaring potential.

  2. TERRA ROSSA CABERNET SAUVIGNON VINTAGE 2005 MEDIA REVIEWS Rich and generous, full of expressive cassis and blackcurrant fruit; silky tannins and quality oak; very long finish. 96 points James Halliday Australian Wine Companion A deep opaque/garnet hue with bright ruby rim. The nose in quite tight, well defined with blackberry, a touch of cassis and oyster shells. The palate is full-bodied, very well balanced and defined with good acidity lending much vibrancy with vivacity. Blackberry, cherry, redcurrant and a touch of white pepper. Good focus and harmony although perhaps just lacking the sophistication of the 2004. Still a very admirable wine. Drink 2009-2018. Tasted 2007 eRobertParker.com PARKER COONAWARRA ESTATE - P.O. BOX 305 COONAWARRA SOUTH AUSTRALIA - www.parkercoonawarraestate.com.au This shows the ripeness of the ’05 Coonawarra vintage and some attractive swanky oak. Mixed berries and a little sweet-spice lift, smells creamy and soft. The palate is built around ripe tannins, aniseed and some chocolate, just the faintest hint of herbs, smoothly textured and ripe with elegance. 4.5 stars, 93 points The Penguin Good Australian Wine Guide 2009, Nick Stock The 2005 flagship wine of this small Coonawarra producer is a classic cabernet from the region and, with the 2001, ranks as its best ever. The 2005 Terra Rossa First Growth is delightfully fragrant, has deep, ripe redcurrant, macerated cherry and cassis flavours beautifully integrated with classy cedary oak, a seductive, velvety texture and fine, slinky tannins. It has elegance and finesse and , although it will improve in the short term, deserves to be drunk at its peak in five to eight years. GOURMET TRAVELLER WINE, PETER FORRESTAL – JUNE/JULY 2008 This is one of the top estates in Australia, let alone Coonawarra, and the gloss and depth of fruit in this brilliant Cab are simply breathtaking. There are firm tannins and capsicum notes here (as there should be in a wine of this class) but it is the vibrancy of fruit that really sets it apart.TASTE FOOD & WINE 2008 – BEST 365 WINES – MATHEW JUKES & TYSON STELZER
