For Close-ups • A macro lens will allow for very close detail shots • If your camera or lens does not have this feature use as much telephoto as you have, make sure to check the menu and settings for an optical zoom in addition to your lens zoom • Depth of field will be determined by aperture (use low f-stop) and/or longer lens • If that is too complicated use closeup setting on camera and auto exposure

  8. Tips • Take a lot of pictures- digital is no cost • Shoot many angles • FOCUS!! Prevent shake or blur from movement by using a monopod or make yourself a human tripod • You can create shade by using a matte board- black on one side, white on other, it can double as a reflector or background • Edit selectively, crop judiciously, save originals as is, changes as copies (use “save as…”) • In your edit program you may be able to enhance colors, sharpness & more
