Who We Are • A Private Practice Special Interest Group of the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association, Inc. • Our Objective is to: • Establish & work toward the goals of the Private Practice Special Interest Group, and the WPTA. • Promote the development of Private Practice in Physical Therapy • Stimulate, encourage, promote and establish goals and priorities, and be able to carry them out within a reasonable time, with professional consultants or with our own membership.

How We Got Here • Petition to start the PP-SIG ~Fall 2009 • February 2010- Proposed to the WPTA Board of Directors to Start SIG, Voted & Approved • Spring 2010- General Membership Voted Approval • August 2010- Organizational meeting in Milwaukee • By-laws approved by the WPTA BOD in April 2011 • May 2011-Elections for PPSIG Board of Directors • Summer/Fall 2011 – BOD Planning meetings • BOD Meetings Monthly May 2011- Present-Onsite at Fall/Spring Conference

  6. Mission Statement To foster growth, economic viability, sound business and clinical practices of physical therapist owned PT services for the benefit of the public, and to promote exclusive ownership of PT services by PTs in the State of Wisconsin.

  7. Primary Goals • Primary Goal: A Unified Voice for Physical Therapy Private Practices in the State of Wisconsin • Networking/Membership Drive • Marketing/Public Relations • Education • Reimbursement • Legislation

Networking/Membership • Update Emails • Linked-in Network for Members, transitioning to website members only discussion group • Phase II: Improve the master list of PT PPs in WI, WPTA members and non-members, initiated in collaboration with MU PT students, • Fall/Spring WPTA Conference Networking Events • Website and Blog: www.wptappsig.com • PPSIG Email: info@wptappsig.com • Goal 2013: Double our membership – each member brings 1 additional member

Marketing/Public Relations • Research current PP-SIGs in other states and their marketing campaigns, partner w/PPS and their marketing campaigns • Tri-State PPSIG Networking Event at PPS 2012 Vegas Oct 25th, Thursday 4:30 to 6:00 at Wynn (suite to be announced) • Goal 2015: 6 Figure Statewide Media Campaign to promote PT PP Services

  11. Reimbursement Issues • Defending our current scope of practice from outside forces(ACOs, HOPTS, POPTS) • Explore unified contracting opportunities for improved reimbursement rates • Creating a members only directory to assist with insurance contracting and authorization issues

  13. Legislative Issues • Working to protect our scope of practice • Researching RC-2 on direction and delegation of the profession of Physical Therapy • Exploring co-pay legislation similar to Kentucky’s recent success

Year in Review! • Replacing By-Laws with PPSIG Policy and Procedure Manual • Created Group Purchasing Member Benefit • Hosted Networking Events at WPTA Spring/Fall Conference 2012, PPS Vegas 2012 Upcoming • Launched our website: www.wptappsig.com • Posting blogs on our PPSIG website • Created Phase I List of PPPT’s WI with MU • Hosted PPSIG CEU Courses at Spring/Fall WPTA Conferences 2012

Year in Review! • Midwest Regional Networking Group initiated at CSM 2012 Chicago with Illinois and Iowa PPSIG’s • Collaboration with WPTA EC on transitioning to centralized banking and leadership changes for districts/PPSIG • PPSIG Tool Kit: Direct Access Marketing Letter • Developed PPSIG Newsletter for Membership Updates • Expanded Membership to include students • Increased Membership from 30 to 41 members

  17. Strategic Plan 2013 • Membership • Grow 25% - add another 10 members • Comparative Value • PPSIG will create a position statement on RC-2 • Survey membership on Pros/Cons • Sustainability • Complete Operations Manual for future BOD • Set up key committees (conference, social media, etc)

RCs 1-4 • It is important for our members to be aware of the proposed rule changes, their pros and cons and to reach out to our state delegates regarding our position on these. • House of Delegates met in June 2012 with further feasibility charged to committee for decision making in Summer 2014 for RC-2 • Watch for upcoming emails with information on the RCs and our delegates to help you with this grassroots efforts

  20. Call for Nominations • Expanding the BOD to seven (7) positions • Three open positions on the PPSIG BOD • Elections April 1-10th, 2013 • 3 year term on the Board • Please email nominees to info@wptappsig.com
