  2. Protection Dinosaurs have many ways to protect themselves from their enemies. Some dinosaurs have bony frills and sharp, pointy horns to stab enemies.

  4. Plant-Eating Dinosaurs Plant-eating dinosaurs have long necks to reach branches in trees. They can also stretch to get far-away plants. Some plant-eating dinosaurs have tons of teeth to grind leaves. Lots of dinosaurs eat plants. Stegosaurus looks scary. It only eats plants. It has a hard mouth and a beak for biting leaves.

  5. Appearance Dinosaurs were reptiles with scaly skin like crocodiles and lizards. Dinosaurs lived millions years ago. There were over a thousand kinds. More forests, deserts and rivers were much hotter than today. There were more insects and other smaller animals than you see today. Other dinosaurs flew like birds and some live underwater like sea dinosaurs. Some were big like Brachiosaurus. Microraptor was as small as a hen.

  6. Dinosaur Bones Scientists find dinosaur bones in the ground. After a long time dinosaur bones turn into fossils. As time passes, the rock wears away and fossils are left.
