Start Ground up… Peak Alpine Zone Base Camp • Validate static object caching • Validate downstream caching • Validate 3rd party content slowness or host that are not accelerated • Validate text compression and images “crushing” • Validate resource structure in HTML pages (CSS , JS ) • Validate cipher strength for PCI • Ensure strength of Akamai integration • Alerts/logs/reports enabled? • Is the origin “locked” down via: • SiteShield / ACLs? • Cache key obfuscation? • Web App Firewalls? • Shared secrets? • Is DR plan dusted off and in active state? • Validate granular traffic controls • Maximize Offload: • Dynamic Pages • Fragments • Widgets/Apps • Are holiday/peak/denial of service plans in place? • How are anonymous users served vs. session users? • Are embargoed countries blocked? • Validate DNS strength • Increase Offload: • error handling • redirects • marketing/e-blast landing pages • type-ahead search TIERS ARE NONEXHAUSTIVE, there’s always more!
