  1. KECI – PERMISSIONS TUTORIAL • To access the new “Permissions” feature in Kentucky Educator Certifications Inquiry (KECI), you must be an active superintendent, deputy/assistant superintendent, principal, assistant/vice principal, director of district personnel, LEAD coordinator, KTIP coordinator, or KTIP designee. • Go to http://www.kyepsb.net/ • Enter your username and password. • Click the “Go” button. Log on Here

  2. KECI SEARCH OPTIONS • Once you log on and select Kentucky Educator Certification Inquiry from the application list, you will see a group of search options. • From here, you have two options in which to complete your search. • Educator Search: • If you would like to see the teaching permissions for a particular certified employee, enter the teacher’s name or SS# here, then click the “Search” button. • District Search: • If you would like to determine which employees in your district may legally teach a particular content, use the drop-down menu to select your district. Search by SSN Search by EPSB User ID Search by Name Search by District

  3. SEARCHING BY EDUCATOR • Once you click the “Search” button, the employee name will be displayed as a hyperlink. When you click on the name, you will see the person’s certifications as you see in the image below. • You will now see a new option in the menu titled “Permissions.” Clicking on this option will reveal all of the person’s content area permissions. This information is what is used in the annual LEAD process (along with grade range, job function, and student population) to determine certificate validity for each employee’s role in the district. 4. SEARCHING BY DISTRICT • By selecting your district, you will see the added search options under “Permissions.” • In the search boxes, select the parameters for which you are looking—job (generally “teacher”), content area, population (usually “general”), and high/low grade levels to be taught. You must select from the drop-down menus in eachcategory in order to receive accurate information.

  5. PERMISSIONS RESULTS • Once you have selected all parameters, you will click on the “Search” button on the left side of the screen and be provided with a listing of all teachers in the district who are legally permitted to teach within those parameters.
