  2. Biography • Born September 21, 1986 in California. Grew up in Arizona and currently lives in Provo, UT while attending BYU. • Classically trained in the violin starting at the age of 6. • Was a member of the pop-punk rock band, “Stomp and Melvin” at 16.

  3. Won the Spirit Award in Arizona’s Junior Miss playing a violin-rock song that she wrote. • Was a quarterfinalist on “America’s Got Talent” in 2010. Known as the “Hip Hop Violinist.” • Toured with the Charley Jenkins Band playing the fiddle in 2011. • YouTube channel started in 2007, Lindseystomp, now has over one million subscribers.

DUBSTEP • Electronic dance music that originated in Croydon, in South London; an offshoot of U.K. garage. • “Tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals” –Allmusic.com • Known for its strong beats, dark atmosphere, and heavy bass. It has influences from other genres including drum n’ bass, dub (reggae), 2-step, glitch, and hip-hop and fused into its own unique blend. • Earliest dubstep released in 1998. • Became more mainstream in 2007.

Lindsey Stirling • Lindsey released her first self-titled album, Lindsey Stirling, on September 18, 2012. • Topped the Dance/Electronic Albums chart • Also charted on the Billboard 200 (#81), Independent Albums, and Classical Albums. • She has sold over 300,000 songs on iTunes, several of which have been on the Top 100. • Went on first tour across the U.S. from September to the end of November 2012.
