  2. LDC and Student Growth Goals Small Growth Goal: Criteria 3 I have selected a student growth goal that supports our HSTW Literacy goal of having students complete and LDC task in each course or subject area throughout the year. I will establish areas of growth for my students after assessing their first LDC task. The rubric for the tasks measures seven specific common core state standards. I will be able to group students based on growth needed in the 7 specific standard areas. My goal will be to get 80% of my special education students to improve on at least 2 of their standard of growth established in their first LDC task on their second LDC task. Whole Class Goal: Criteria 6 I have selected a student growth goal that supports our HSTW Literacy goal of having students complete and LDC task in each course or subject area throughout the year. I will establish areas of growth for my students after assessing their first LDC task. The rubric for the tasks measures seven specific common core state standards. My goal will be to get 80% of my students to improve in their standard of growth established in their first LDC task on their second LDC task. Criteria #8 Group Goal: We have selected a literacy goal for our PLC’s which is aligned with our schools literacy goals and improvement plan. Our goal is to work with each PLC to implement at least one LDC task each year. We will collect examples of the tasks and task ladders to track our growth. We would like each PLC to do this before the end of the school year. We checked in with each PLC at the end of last year and we will monitor again mid-year to track progress. Our goal is to have examples of literacy tasks from each 90% of all PLC’s and at least one per department gathered by June.

  3. How LDC Measures Common Core • 29 Tasks Worded to tie to Common Core Anchor standards for reading and writing • Rubrics are worded in the same way as the anchor standards Literacy Design Collaborative 7 Scoring elements: • Focus • Controlling idea • Reading/Research • Development • Organization • Conventions • Content Understanding

  4. By writing my goals to coincide with the LDC: CCSS by nature Trackable Fixable!

  5. What the data told me: • Data is just data • Honest lens for growth • Reflection is the purpose • What I do now?

  6. The Five Findings: 1. Literacy is not the responsibility of just ELA and that’s a great thing! 2. Planning together can make it happen 3. Teams can make LDC happen 4. We can bring this in as a building and use the blocks 5. Systematic use, and baby steps!
