NWHPEC Board Meeting February 27, 2014 at Columbia Machine In Attendance: JenniferAyers, Richard Carroll, Mike Funke, BryanGoodman, KyleStavig, JulieSimmons Adjourned at 1:20pm • Financial Update(Mike): • Julie’s salary, benefits, and expenses invoices for Q3 & Q4 have been received from ESCO and processed • Mike is researching a few transition (from Dale to Mike) issues with Selco and will provide findings to Kim and Julie • The Board agreed to ask Kim to apply the training materials depreciation yearly • Julie has sent out the 2013 rebate letters. 17 companies qualified for $7000 in rebate. Julie has heard from 14 of the companies; one has requested their rebate with the balance leaving the funds with NWHPEC Old Business: - 2014 AME Conference: Julie has purchased four tickets to the AME Conference. Two of the tickets are taken and two are available for the remaining Board members • New Business: • Member Feedback: A member feedback session occurred on January 21st during the Best Practice Sharing Session. Alex moderated this session with Julie and Alissa Nichols capturing the member feedback. Julie has summarized the feedback and sent it to Alex. The Board would like an update and review of the feedback at the March Board meeting • NWHPEC Strategy: Kyle suggested “Strategy” be added to the standard Board meeting agenda to help us keep our members needs in the forefront for 2015 planning. The feedback gathered at the Best Practice Sharing Session will help with the 2015 strategy • Event Updates (Julie): • Learning Tours: 1st Learning Tour of 2014 held at Blount International on February 25th. Great event with excellent participation and value received by the attendees and Blount. Julie has six Learning Tours scheduled, two companies are selecting dates, and Julie is working with the remainder to schedule • Training Classes: A TWI JI class is running at Climax March 3rd – 7th. Michael Schmich is teaching the class. This class is sold out. A VSM is scheduled at Axiom April 8th & 9th; Michael is teaching this class too. Julie will audit these classes and report back to the Board • Executive Forums: Mike Rother, Toyota Kata, Mike Hoseus, Problem Solving and Strategy Deployment, and Dan Miller, Lean and the Human Element (4 part series) are all scheduled for 2014. Julie is working to find a host for David Mann’s Creating a Lean Culture and is also working with Mike Rother to lock him in for a date in the Fall • Best Practice Sharing Sessions: Julie will schedule and begin working on the June session Next Board Meeting: March 27th via telecom from Noon – 2pm Dial: 800-531-3250 Conf.
