  4. Progress to Date • Outline Draft Environmental improvement Plan prepared • Key Sites Identified- Car Park site on Terenure Road North, VEC Grounds • Initial Contact with Key Stakeholders Dublin City Council, HSE, NTA, CDETB (VEC) (TerenureMulti-Sports Project)

  5. Main Recommendations (1) • Improve streetscape of central village area • New Pedestrian Friendly Streets • New Hard Landscaping –Footpaths/ Pavements • Complete the Street Line • New Street Furniture and Directional Signage • Extend New Lamp Standards in Village area • Increase Tree Planting in Village area • Develop under-utilised sites on main street • Eliminate gap sites • Develop Car Park Site as Primary Healthcare Centre/ Library (Possible Joint Venture HSE/ DCC) • Develop VEC Grounds as modern Multi-Sports Facility

Main Recommendations (2) • Improve Public Transport Service in Terenure • Reduce Traffic Congestion • Optimise Traffic Light Sequencing • Introduce Dublin Bikes Scheme to Terenure • Improve Road Surfaces and Footpaths in Residential Areas • New Pedestrian Crossings and better access for disabled • New Pedestrian Barriers at Terenure Cross • Sculpture of James Joyce in Terenure

Main Recommendations (3) • Improve Poor Quality Streetscape • Eliminate: • Unnecessary Signage • Unnecessary Bill Hoardings • Surplus Posts, • Abandoned Telephone Kiosk • Traffic Light Control box at Bank of Ireland • Place Overhead Cables underground (Victorian/Georgian Areas) • Relocate Recycling Bins or place underground

  8. Potential Development Sites • Car Park Site Terenure Road North • Kenny’s Field Site, Terenure Road North • Former Falks Lighting Site, Terenure Road East • Former Presentation Convent Site • Former Capco Site Mount Tallant Avenue • Library Site, Templeogue Road

Green Areas 1 • Bushy Park Provide on- site parking at supervisors yard New footbridge over R.Dodder near Stepping Stones Provide additional parking along Dodder Park Road (R112) Increase planting- yew tree walk, new tree markers • Eaton Square Replace park furniture, introduce childrens’ play Area • Hoarding Site corner Whitton Road-Create pocket Park, Children Play Area • Former Convent Site, TRW Potential for New Green Area

  10. Green Areas 2 • Include VEC Grounds in Green Networks Initiative. Create Link to Lakelands, Terenure College, Bushy Park & R. Dodder corridor.

  11. New Transport Initiative National Transport Authority (NTA) has announced plans for three new Bus Rapid Transport Routes, one of which ( Tallaght/ Clongriffin) is proposed for Terenure Core Routes: Swords/Airport to City Centre Blanchardstown to UCD Clongriffin to Tallaght

Response from key stakeholders HSE has indicated that car park site is under consideration for location as Primary Healthcare Centre; Decision to be taken by Easter; Dublin City Council open to considering co-locating New Library on Car Park site depending on space available; DCETB (formerly VEC) Negotiations ongoing on developing VEC Grounds on Templeogue Road

  13. Professional advisors Liaising with firm of architects, Anthony Reddy & Associates, to assist in drawing up formal plan for submission to Dublin City Council
