Throwing journal <Discuss #2>. Arm & Hand position. My release arm is pointing too low. My hand is spread out over the discus, but my thumb should be on top of discus not grabbing it. I threw my arm out in front with other hand to support discus. Rotation.

  2. Arm & Hand position • My release arm is pointing too low. • My hand is spread out over the discus, • but my thumb should be on top of discus not grabbing it. • I threw my arm out in front with other hand to support discus.

  3. Rotation • I rotated 3 times practicing movements before throwing. • My body weight shifted from back to front.

  4. Release • After release, the same side leg didn’t rotate • and stayed still. • My arm angle of release is about 10 degrees only, but it should be higher (45 degrees).

  5. Improvements • My body weight shifted from back to front. • My hand position got more exact. • I rotated three times instead of two.

  6. Goal setting • When releasing, I will release my arm in 45 degrees. • I will rotate my leg to get a powerful throw.
