  2. How can we describe a student’s behavior in class??? What are the different types of child’s behavior? • Inattentive and distract • Timid and calm • Overactive • Disruptive, disrespectful • Aggressive and violent

  3. Reasons of each behavior School and family are related and connected so reasons can emerge from these two systems: A student is a part of school and part of a family so he’s part of two systems his behavior is affected by these systems and in the same time , it affects these two systems

  4. Reasons 1Family systems and connection

  5. Reasons 2School systems and connection

  6. Reasons 3school and home, how should it be similar??? • Routine • Rules and consequences • Expectations • Interaction with others/being part of a group.

  7. How to handle each type of behavior at school and at home??Inattentive , overactive, disruptive • Put him in front of the class and in the middle. • Remind him that it’s explaining time • Ask him questions , asking him to participate on the board • Encouraging him( praises, stickers…) • Special time after class teacher-student • Insert a homework routine • Eliminate the distractions at home (noise, TV, studying with Bro/sis familial problems and others) and at school, add visuals, sounds… • Encouragement-parents • Progressive consequences ( taken by the couple, father and mother). • Diet( breakfast rich in proteins, fish, and other vitamin supplements suggested by doctor) • Supervising the movies he’s watching and the games he’s playing

  8. Timid and calm • Ask him easy and simple questions, yes or no questions • Praise him and gratify him on the simplest good actions in front of all students • Give him class responsibilities. • Register him in a club or activity • Help him having friends • Allow him to say his opinion, communicate more with him. • Try not to compare between him and his other brothers and sisters or his friends in class.

  9. Aggressive and violent • Use the opposite way: father’s and mother’s affection and care this do not mean give you child whatever he wants that’s mean more special time, more communication, more positive presence at home. • Control his way to express his frustration especially with his brothers/sisters at home, when a violence act occurs, find out the circumstances (when, where and why) and teach him how to find other solutions, what he could do instead, let the victim express his feelings, let him communicate with the victim (role play).. • Having him play more with his bro/sis, friends, neighbors, supervise this play time at the beginning.
