  17. Today’s Situation • In 3 short years our program has grown 600% from 30 to 180 players due to a number of factors including the increased public perception of a successful developmental program. Coombabah High School

  18. Today’s Situation • Through effective coaching & training methods, players abilities have improved resulting in an increase in player representative numbers by 350% Coombabah High School

  19. Coombabah High School The Proposal 1. Identify potential players through Raiders talent scouts 2. Recruit those identified players into the Coombabah/Raiders rugby league program 3. Coach/Train players on 4 times per week by a number of highly qualified & experienced Coombabah coaches Potential Target Players: New Zealand players moving to Australia – boarding/living on Gold Coast. Gold Coast New Zealand born/ Pacific Islanders identified and placed in school Brisbane and South Brisbane players identified and placed in school Players identified in Australia- eg. North QLD, interstate students moving to the Gold Coast Financial support through contra and other Coach education, program clinics held at Coombabah and development camps for students

  20. Coombabah High School The Proposal We propose a partnership between Coombabah State High School & Canberra Raiders. The coaches at the school have the passion and expertise to make this proposal a mutually beneficial venture. Coombabah/Raiders to identify potential players Raiders/Coombabah recruit those identified players into the Coombabah/Raiders rugby league program Coach/Train players 4 times per week during school time plus 3 strength & conditioning sessions by a number of highly qualified & experienced Coombabah coaches Development Squads

Coombabah High School Advantages to Canberra Raiders Direct access & regular ongoing involvement with elite players who are receiving professional coaching & man management on a daily basis Ability to direct the coaching of elite players inline with the Raiders coaching principles & program Minimal time required coaching by CSHSRL program assistance in player identification Minimal financial outgoing/commitment Through our continual involvement in junior rugby league as: School coaches Representative team coaches, selectors & trainers Talent identifiers
