  2. What is the Wayne County Education Enhancement Millage? • County-wide millage • 32 school districts • Two mills for six years • August 5 ballot

  3. Why is the Millage Important? • Reductions in per-pupil funding • Past and current fiscal challenges and ongoing uncertainty of State funding • Increase local control • Prepare all children to be college and career ready

  4. How will the Millage affect taxpayers? • Assessment is $50 for every $50,000 of market value • Less than $4.16 per month

  5. Why an Enhancement Millage? • County-wide enhancement millage only legislative option available under Proposal A • Local control in spending of revenues • Revenue based on per-pupil allocation

  6. What does this mean for Wayne-Westland Community Schools? • Two mills would generate approximately $4.6 million in tax revenue for the district or $379 per pupil

  7. How will Wayne-Westland use the additional funds? • Preserve student programs (academic, student technology, athletic and extra-curricular) • School bus replacement • Update curriculum materials • Maintain facilities and equipment
