  3. Chapter 1 The Beginning

  4. I’m Ricky Ruth and I’m Coatesville’s most famous detective.” “POP!” the gum cracked loudly. “Sorry I have some blue Wrigley’s gum in my mouth, (that’s my favorite). So any way, I have a case to solve. It’s the case of the missing money. I already have one clue - a black ace. I also think I know what the clue means; I need to go to Card Tycoon. But my mom said, “Maybe tomorrow honey bunches”. • “M-O-O-O-M” I complained.

  5. The next morning Ricky didn’t want to get up, but he finally got up at 1:00 PM! He got dressed and went down stairs, grabbed a slice of last night’s pizza and he was off on his green-blue bike. He rode off to the CARD TYCOON. When Ricky got there, he parked his bike and went in.

  6. Chapter 2 Croppers

  7. The people inside were playing black jack, poker and other card games. “Hey you, did you lose a Croppers receipt?” the cashier asked Ricky. “Uhh...no but can I see that?” murmured Ricky. “Yeah sure, what ever, here take it.” Ricky took the receipt and looked at it. It said “Not paid. $1,000,000,000.00 needs to be paid by 12/09/12.” He knew it was a clue. He said thank you to the cashier and rode off to Croppers to look around.

  8. When he got there he gave the receipt to the cashier and asked “Who’s is this?” The cashier said to go to her boss, he’d know. Ricky went to the back of the store. When he got in the supply closet, the boss said, “Ricky, I am so happy to see you! There was a robber in the store and he stole 1,000,000,000.00!!”

  9. Chapter 3 The woman

  10. “Hey”, thought Ricky, “ there was $1,000,000,000.00 on the receipt.” “Where did the robber go after he robbed the store?” asked Ricky “He went towards Card Tycoon,” assumed the boss. “Hmm…..” said Ricky as he scribbled some names in a notebook. He said thanks and was off. He went back to Card Tycoon. While he was heading to Card Tycoon he saw a girl with money flying behind her. Ricky took a picture of the girl, but fell off his bike and had a blurry picture. Good thing he had a bandage and Neosporin with him! He had a big scar on his leg, and it hurt! He put on the bandage and continued on his way.

  11. When Ricky got there he asked the people some questions, carefully keeping notes in his notebook. He wrote answers to all of the questions. He went back home and went to his room to study the notes. The next morning he got a letter it said, “Take a walk down memory lane. ” The signature said “J kl n.” “Maybe it’s a name,” thought Ricky. He got dressed and called the operator, he asked for JAKLON. The operator said there are no records of the Jaklon Ricky asked for.

  12. Chapter 4 The Cursed Forest

  13. He thought about “memory lane” then it hit him, his past!! He went back to all the places he went in Pennsylvania (physically). He went back to detective camp - he saw nothing. He went back to all of his schools and his classrooms -nothing. Then he thought about detective camp, the letter was probably a fake letter!! His teachers taught him how to find out if the letter was a fake. “You take an old smudged up penny and you rub it on the note. If it rips the paper it is real, if it doesn’t it is fake.” It turned out to be fake. After that Ricky studied the “clues” for a while. He went back to card tycoon (by now his scar on his leg had healed pretty good).

  14. When Ricky got in he looked around for the girl that he saw a few days ago. Ricky saw the girl and she saw him. When she did she took off to the door. Ricky ran towards the door too. Ricky followed her all the way to the Forbidden Woods. He remembered what his parents said to him about those woods, “all who step in shall be cursed with pain for the rest of thy life” he knew what his parents said but if he didn’t catch the robber he wouldn’t be famous any more! “all who step in shall be cursed with pain for the rest of thy life

  15. Chapter 5 The H.Q.

  16. Ricky didn’t want to, but he ran in after the robber! While he was in there he had to cross “the lake of doom , the poison ivy of itchiness and the trees of poison oak” when he crossed them he got to a secret club house. It was like any other old club house - broken windows by baseballs, the wood and paint was chipped, and the metal rusted. He went in and he saw the only thing not rusted: a lever . He pulled it and a bookshelf moved.

  17. When Ricky got in there were two people inside, the girl and her boss. Ricky hid behind a filing cabinet and he overheard them. “You got the cash?” said the boss. “Got it!” said the girl. “Tomorrow we will rob the store again.” “WAAAHAAAA!” an evil crackle of laughter came from the room as the two evil geniuses' plotted every step of the way. Ricky thought he would catch the criminals tomorrow at the scene of the crime.

  18. Chapter 6 The Daring Ending

  19. The next day Ricky went to Croppers and just hung out. All of the sudden, he saw a woman come out of the store screaming! When Ricky questioned the woman, she told Ricky about the store robber. Ricky saw the girl and caught her red handed. Ricky detained her until the police came. Then he gave her over to the police.

  20. Epilogue After the girl went to jail, Ricky became famous throughout Pennsylvania. He grew up a to be a sturdy man. Ricky had a great wife, great children and great friends. As he grew up he encountered many more mysteries, and he even joined the F.B.I. But his most important mystery is the next one… Ricky Ruth and the Case of the Stolen Identity.

  21. But, you’ll have to wait until next time to hear that story….
