  1. April 7-9, 2010Boston, MA • USA Corneal Apex Thickness Measurements Using Anterior Segment OCT and Single- and Dual-Scheimpflug Topography: Comparative Study César Bernilla MD, Luis Izquierdo MD, Ma Alejandra Henríquez MD The authors have no financial interest in the subject matter of this poster.

  2. To compare de corneal apex thickness measurements using non contact methods as are Visante OCT (software version 1.0.12.1896), Pentacam (software version 1.17r37) and Galilei (software version 5.0). PURPOSE

  3. Prospective, comparative, and double blinded study. • Central corneal thickness (CCT) on 50 eyes of 25 candidates for refractive surgery. • Measurements were taken by three different researchers without knowing the previous results obtained by the other devices. METHODS

  4. We analyzed the thickness averages, maximum and minimum values, and their standard deviations. The statistical analysis was made using ANOVA testing and SPSS v 15. METHODS

  5. Mean age was 30.8 years (SD=5.736). • The Mean corneal thickness at the apex for the Visante OCT was 530.02 ± 30.682 um and for Pentacam was 554.76 ± 32.028 um, and for Galilei was 562.38 ± 29.21 um respectively. RESULTS * SD= standard desviation

  6. Figure 1. Mean Corneal thickness at the apex of the cornea using the Visante, Pentacam and Galilei

  7. Table 1. Mean corneal thickness Difference between the devices.

  8. Galilei Pentacam Visante

  9. There is not a statistically significant difference between the values of corneal thickness at the apex of the cornea between Galilei and Pentacam. • When compared the corneal apex thickness obtained with Visante OCT we found the average value is less than other devices. CONCLUSION
