Basic Moral Norm: sexual morality you were taught by your parents and religious leaders ( natural law, scripture) Personal Moral Convictions: sexual moral codes that reach person follow in his or her day-to-day life.

Three Central Concepts: Choices – Freedom - Consequences Choices Life if full of choices Some choices are yours to make Some choices are made for you by others Easy and difficult choices Long- range consequences or those choices that don’t really matter Some are morally good choices Some are immoral and sinful When if comes to sex and sexual relationships…these choices almost always have life-changing consequences

(Yes and No) Yes… You are free to decide for yourself the important sexualquestions ( dating, how far to go, etc.) Parents, teachers, religious leaders have little power to make these decisions for you No… You are not totally free Not free to violate another person’s freedom Not free to disregard Natural Law, Law of God , laws of state Not free to avoid the consequences of your decisions
