  2. Overview • EMPIRE was launched in 1989 in the United Kingdom by EMAP and edited by Barry McIlheney. • Bauer purchased EMAP in 2008. It dominates the UK film market with over 70% circulation share, outselling its nearest competitor by almost 100,000 copies. • The Editor is Mark Dinning, and the readership is 873,000 as of 2012. • Address: Endeavour House, 189 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JG

  3. Content • It is largely focused on films and cinema, but it has categories for all forms of online media, such as music and video games. It contains interviews, future film release dates, reviews, blogs, and competitions. It also has a forum and a selection of podcasts. • It uses slightly informal language in it’s articles.

Audience • The magazine itself caters to film fans and is published monthly. “Our readers have film at their heart but they also have a large disposable income and an interest in a number of other products whether that is cars, phones, fragrances or holidays. The price of the annual subscription in Ireland is £103, and £103-£181 for other countries where it is available. • The distribution is, on average, 160,067 an issue.
