  2. Everything You Need To Know!! • Seasons of Sport • Eligibility • Try-outs • Summer Programs • P.E. Requirement • Physicals and Online Clearance

  3. GET INVOLVED!!! Hart High has lots to offer. Choose a group and get involved. Whether its sports, arts, career, hobbies, writing, etc…. Just Do It!!!

  4. Commitment • Sports require a huge commitment of your time. • Practices will last 2 or more hours a day. • Game days involve late night commitments. • Time management is critical to keep up with school work. • Most sports have summer programs.

  5. P.E. Credit and Sports • Everyone must have 2 years or 4 semesters of P.E. credit. • Sports counts towards P.E. credit. • Each season of sport counts as ½ a semester. • If you stay in the 7th period class for the remainder of the semester you will get a full semester of P.E. credit. • You can earn all of your P.E. requirements through sports.

EligibilityWhat you need to do to be able to Play • Maintain a 2.0 GPA – That’s a “C” Average • Clear for participation through AthleticClearance.com. • Turn in a Physical Form completed by a Medical Doctor (MD). (Once completed, Athletic Clearance and Physicals are good for the rest of the school year.)

  8. Try-outs • Most sports have try-outs and will cut athletes in order to have a manageable team size. • Some sports will take most players who come out as long as you have desire and commitment. (Football, cross-country and track are examples) • Some sports really need players to fill rosters…softball, girls golf, boys volleyball, girls basketball typically are short in numbers.

Summer ProgramsThe following sports have summer programs: • Football – Girls’ Volleyball – Cross Country – Girls Tennis - Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball – Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer - Baseball – Boys’ Volleyball – Softball – Boys’ Tennis -Lacrosse ************************************* • Summer registration packets are being distributed today. Registration is completed through Hart ASB. (in person, on line or by mail)

  10. Specific Sport Information • Each team has prepared an informational flyer for you to take home. • Some flyers have information forms to fill out and leave here today. • Athletes will be on campus today at lunch in the Quad. Stop by and meet them and get any questions answered!
