  2. Interviewee Background • The person I interviewed is my Aunt, Bonnie Lewis • She is 71 years old and lives in Lewisburg, PA, grew up in Shavertown • She is the oldest of 8 kids • She is a divorcee with 2 children, Megan (NC) & David (SK)

  3. Sound Recording • She mostly listened to Operas, Christmas and Disney songs • Perry Como, Elvis and Patti Page were her favorite artists • She found out about them through radio broadcasts & purchased their albums at local drygood stores • Patti Page - Moon River

  4. Radio • Radio was a fun & exciting experience for my family • My aunt’s favorite shows were Amos & Andy, The Lone Ranger and The Shadow • The problems they experienced most with radio were static and faulty knobs

  5. Television • Television was “Marvelous” to my aunt, “there was nothing else like it” • Her maternal grandfather was the first in the family to have a tv • In order to be able to watch tv, all chores needed to be completed • TV ads targeted housewives and smokers

  6. Film • My grandmother often took my aunt to the movies when she was young • She was given a quarter every Friday to go see a movie with friends • The first movie she went to see with her mother is called Apartment for Peggy in 1948
