  8. S2- Current events • Over the weekend Iran unveiled its own fighter, in which they “claim” it to be stealth capable. • Currently the US is the only nation that openly has stealth capable aircraft • North Korea plans to test a third long range ballistic missile in light of world condemnation. • Something to Note: North Korea spends millions on these tests while spending close to nothing on its starving populace Qaher (Conquer) 313 North Korean Missile test

  9. Conflict update: Syria The Conflict in Syria is showing signs of widening with no peaceful end in sight, with spillover into Jordan and Lebanon. Last week Israeli Fighter-Bombers crossed into Syrian airspace and took out a suspected arms convoy en route to Lebanese Hezbollah. The convoy was suspected of carrying Russian made surface to air missiles, a weapon that would greatly increase the striking capability of Hezbollah fighters in their resistance against Israel. Israeli jets also bombed a Syrian Chemical Weapons facility in Syria. Both the Syrian and Iranian governments are vowing to strike back. Major Syrian city of Homs lays in ruins A young girl holding the Free Syrian Flag in protest of the Assad Government

  10. Questions • Does anyone have any questions about anything S2 related I may be able to answer. • Clarification on something? • Is there anything you want to see specifically, in future training meetings?

  11. Weather Weekly forecast predicts mild weather with precipitation possibly on Tues and Friday. Recommendation: Key leaders maintain contingency plans for PT Tuesday and Friday, in the event of precipitation Weather as of 1200 3 Feb 13

  12. Community Alerts • No major community alerts as of now. • -As always continue to use caution around major hot spots • i.e. Devon Lane • I’m thinking of sending out before the start of each weekend to the BN something I would call “The Weekend WARNO” to widen the role of the S2. • - It would cover world and current events as well as recent community alerts.
