DAU Continuous Learning Module (CLM) Status Title: Independent Logistics Assessments (ILA) Objective: By completing this learning module, participants will be able to identify and plan for the Independent Logistics Assessment activities that occur during the acquisition cycle for weapons systems. Schedule: Scheduled Fielding Date: 4 Aug 06 Services POCs: Chuck Silva (OSD), Ed Case (Air Force), Patty von Perbandt (Navy), Dianna Woody (Army) Comments: Module presents an introduction to Independent Logistics Assessment (ILA), a review of the state of a program’s logistics planning and documentation prior to Milestones B and C. It is intended for members of the logistics workforce who will support the conduct of an ILA as a member of an assessment team, or serve as the logistician responsible for preparing for an ILA. Participants are expected to have completed LOG 101 or to have equivalent career experience, but there are no formal prerequisites. Program managers are also encouraged to complete this module. The module will require approximately three hours to complete.

DAU Continuous Learning Module (CLM) Status Title:Business Case Analysis Objective: Provide students an introduction into the purpose, format, process, and application of BCA use in DoD Schedule: In development, completion and availability expected Aug 2006 Services POCs: DAU BCF (Marc Greenburg), OSD PA&E (Walt Cooper), several NAVAIR and NAVICP BCA SMEs Comments: Recent (2004) OSD Performance Based Logistics (PBL) policy requires use of BCAs to determine optimum product support strategies, prompting need for BCA CLM. CLM content is generic, but application references and examples focus on PBL application

DAU Continuous Learning Module (CLM) Status Title:Joint Systems Integrated Support Strategies Objective: Provide students information on the importance of integrated support strategies to a Joint acquisition program as well as DoD guidance and policy, strategy options, challenges/issues and best practices relevant to development of joint strategies. Schedule: In development, completion and availability expected Aug 2006 Services POCs: ASN RDA (CAPT Spruill, Denise Brown); ASA ALT (Larry Hill), SAF/AQ (Mark Humphrey) Comments: Top FY 06 priority following Sep 2005 FIPT. Oriented toward providing acquisition logisticians an overview of joint systems definitions, guidance, organizational structures, strategy options, challenges/issues to be addressed and lessons learned from existing joint programs Likely spiral #1 of an evolutionary development of CLMs and other training products in this area

DAU Continuous Learning Module (CLM) Status Title: Contractors Accompanying the Force Objective: Focused on DoDI 3020.41, Contractor Personnel Authorized to Accompany the U.S. Armed Forces Schedule: Module on line 30 Jun 06 Services POCs: OSD/AT&L, USA G-3 Comments: Developed in response to GAO recommendations. Ranked as #1 priority LOG and CON module in FY 2004 Content approved by ODUSD(L&MR) and Army reps Oriented toward providing deploying commanders an overview of contract management responsibilities according to the Instruction Likely spiral #1 of an evolutionary development of CLMs and other training products in this area
