  2. New Albany-Floyd County, Indiana First Families A Project of the New Albany, IN Bicentennial Celebration—2013 Co-Sponsored by the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society, Inc.

  3. The purpose of this program, sponsored by Southern Indiana Genealogical Society:

  4. “To honor the memory of the pioneers/first families who came and lived in the New Albany-Floyd Co. IN area before December 31, 1840”.

  5. Anyone who can prove descent from at least one of those pioneers is eligible for recognition.

  6. Application forms may be requested from Southern Indiana Genealogical Society, and are also available in the New Albany Public Library Indiana Room.

  7. Documenting the application – Proof of lineage (birth, death, marriage, and the connection between the generations) must be submitted with the application for review, approval and acceptance.

  8. The applications and documents will be checked, and additional proofs will be requested if needed.

  9. Certificates will be issued for approved First Family & Descendants, to be awarded during the 2013 New Albany, Indiana Bicentennial.

  10. Registration and certificate fee: $10.00 Submit Additional Ancestors For $5.00 each  

  11. Mail completed application with proofs to: Southern Indiana Genealogical Society, Inc. P. O. Box 665 New Albany, IN 47151-0665
