  • 200 VOUCHERS ARE DESIGNATED FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.


History

HISTORY

  • THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF NEW ALBANY WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1937, TO MEET THE NEEDS OF FLOOD VICTIMS IN OUR COMMUNITY.

  • VALLEY VIEW COURT WAS THE FIRST HOMES DEVELOPED IN NEW ALBANY FOR DISPLACED PERSONS.

  • VALLEY VIEW WAS THE FIRST PUBLIC HOUSING PROPERTY BUILT IN NEW ALBANY.

  • VALLEY VIEW COURT CONSISTS OF 40 PROJECT BASED SECTION 8 HOMES, OWNED BY THE NEW ALBANY HOUSING AUTHORITY.

  • NAHA PROVIDES 90% OF THE MAINTENANCE TO ALL NAHA HOMES.

  • NAHA HAS SEVERAL NATIONAL CERTIFIED HOUSING INSPECTORS.

  • NAHA HOUSING SITES ARE 99.4% FULL

  • ALL RESIDENTS CHOOSE A FLAT RENT OR A RENT BASED ON 30% OF THEIR INCOME.

  • MINIMUM RENT $50 PER MONTH

  • 30% OF ALL HOUSEHOLD INCOME AND A ELECTRIC ALLOWANCE IS APPLIED TO REDUCE NAHA RESIDENTS RENT.

  • THE AVERAGE RENT PAID BY NAHA RESIDENTS IS $162.60 PER MONTH.
