  2. About Me • Grew up in East Cobb, attended Tritt, Hightower, and Pope. • Parents live in Cleveland, Ohio. Sister lives in Buckhead. • Graduated from Georgia Southern with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education • Plan to get Masters in a couple of years

  3. Homework • Follow the Homework Calendar each month • Please check your child’s work • Only checked for completion • Comes home on Monday • Due on Friday • Challenge or Too Much?

  4. Whooo’s Making Wise Choices? Behavior management plan • Students can earn a blue, green, yellow, or red “belly” each day • Warnings before moving to yellow, opportunity to move back to green • If warnings do not work, students are asked to move to red and can’t go back up • When your child earns 10 green or 5 blue bellies, they can visit the classroom treasure box • If you have anything to contribute to the treasure box, please feel free to send them in!

  5. Volunteer Opportunities • Mandated Reporting • Parent Readers- every Friday @ 12:40 • Math Center Volunteers • Holiday Centers

  6. Communication • Daily Blue Folder: I check it every morning • Calendar: will have Specials each month • Family Journal: Sent home on Fridays. Please write back!  • Blog updated weekly- Friday or Saturday

  7. Field Trips and special events • We will wear the 1st grade RED Trittshirts on special event days • In House Field Trip in November: Sound • Zoo Field Trip in the Spring • Thanksgiving Play in November • Birthdays: We will have our birthday celebrations during snack/recess time (10:10-10:40) or after lunch (12:40-1:10)

  8. Tritt Elementary PE • - If your child has a medical condition the PE teachers need to know about please go to the PE blog, download medical condition form and send to PE teachers http://tritt.typepad.com/pe/ • Wear tennis shoes on PE days • Make sure to check your teacher’s schedule for PE days - Any Questions? Email Coach Adams or Mrs. Smarr from the PE blog.

  9. Specialist Behavior Slips • All Specials will be using the same behavior slip • If your child receives a slip it will be reflected on the Conduct section on Report Card • Due to time constraints and quick class changes, behavior notes may come home a day late

  10. Volunteer Positions: • Classroom Volunteers: assist with parent reading and math centers • Tiger Publishing: help edit, type, and format stories written by the students • Collaboration: Substitute for a couple of hours while the 1st grade team meets • Class Yearbook Photographer: Takes a posed class photo along with a few candid pictures, submits photos to grade level yearbook chair
