  1. Back in My Day... -Technology over the past 100 years-

  2. About 100 years or so ago the horse and cart was an everyday form of transportation. Today we can travel in to outer space, fly thousands of miles in short amounts of time. Now the burning question for me is 'how does humanity go from primitive/basic forms of travel, the horse and cart to traveling in rocket ships in less than a hundred years'. If you look at the wondrous inventions that have come to fruition in this time period;GPS,night vision ectect all in the last 100 years.

  3. But not transport had evolved in the last 100 years. 1862 First Still Image Transferred • Abbe Giovanna Caselli invents his Pantelegraph and becomes the first person to transmit a still image over wires. 1873

  4. 1900 And We Called It Television • At the World's Fair in Paris, the first International Congress of Electricity was held. That is where Russian ConstantinPerskyi made the first known use of the word "television."

  5. Phone evolution • On March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell first transmitted speech electrically with an order to his assistant Thomas A. Watson. Since then, the telephone -- or rather the telephone system -- has revolutionized the way we live, socialize and do business, but its ultimate potential was less than apparent to 19th century society.

  6. Computer evolution • •1600- The first counting device was the abacus, originally from Asia. It worked on a place-value notion meaning that the place of a bead or rock on the apparatus determined how much it was worth. 1993s: The Energy Star program, endorsed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), encouraged manufacturers to build computer equipment that met power consumpton guidelines. When guidelines are met, equipment displays the Energy Star logo. The same year, Several companies introduced computer systems using the Pentium microprocessor from Intel that contains 3.1 million transistors and is able to perform 112 million instructions per second (MIPS)

  7. TRANSPORT EVOLUTION • Fixed wheels on carts are invented - the first wheeled vehicles in history. Other early wheeled vehicles include the chariot.3500 BCRiver boats are invented - ships with oars2000 BCHorses are domesticated and used for transportation.181-234The wheelbarrow is invented.
