  7. “The Blessed Assurance” “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…” Hebrews 10:22 Sister Marilyn F. Chappelle

  8. Blessed Assurance Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His Blood. This is my story; this is my song. Praising my Savior all the day long. This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Savior all the day long. ~Fannie Crosby

  9. The Blessed Assurance We have all heard this Hymn written by Fannie Crosby, a Methodist rescue mission worker, who was blind from infancy. But… • What is this blessed assurance that Fannie Crosby is so assured of? • What are the assurances of God? • How do we receive this blessed assurance? • Does this assurance have anything to do with my faith?

  10. The Blessed Assurance Assurance is confidence, trust, full conviction, firmness of mind. Knowing what you know! As believers, the basis of our assurance is Jesus Christ.

  11. The Blessed Assurance “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…” Hebrews 10:22

  12. The Blessed Assurance One thing for sure…Faith in God is not born out of good times.

  13. The Blessed Assurance “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” II Corinthians 4:17-18

  14. The Blessed Assurance Dr. Tony Evans says: “The trial you are facing is not happening TO you—it is happening FOR you.” He goes on to say: “Let God use it for your good and His glory!”

  15. The Blessed Assurance “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall (encounter trials) into divers temptations; Knowing this, (be assured) that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, (thorough) that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing (fully developed). James 1:2-4

  16. The Blessed Assurance It is so important for us to realize…if God allows Itthere is purpose in It. We may not fully understand It; but God knows the path that will draw us closer to Him.

  17. The Blessed Assurance Jesus said… “The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (overflow).” John 10:10

  18. The Blessed Assurance But as believers in Jesus Christ, we have the Blessed Assuranceand we have the promises of God.

  19. The Blessed Assurance We have the assurance of an abundant life, the assurance of peace, the assurance of joy, and the assurance of hope on this side of the Cross.

  20. The Blessed Assurance But more importantly, we have the assurance of Eternal Life with Christ on the other side of the Cross.

  21. The Blessed Assurance “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are yes in Christ. And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” II Corinthians 1:20

  22. The Blessed Assurance “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

  23. The Blessed Assurance Ladies our foundation for eternal living must be built upon the Blessed Assurance which is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  24. The Blessed Assurance Remember what James said…“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall (encounter trials) into diver’s temptations…” James 1:2

  25. The Blessed Assurance “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” I Peter 5:7

  26. The Blessed Assurance “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” Job 14:1

  27. The Blessed Assurance “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

  28. The Blessed Assurance As a believer in Jesus Christ, we have the Blessed Assurance that Fannie Crosby wrote about. The Blessed Assurancethat is only found in Jesus Christ.

  29. The Blessed Assurance Think about this… • What if you believed with all your heart that God is with you? • What if you believed without a doubt that the Lord would not withhold no good thing from you if you walk uprightly before Him? • How would today go if you believed without a doubt that God is in control of all things? Truly believing that God will do exactly what He promises leads to an abundant life.

  30. The Blessed Assurance Remember…“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are yes in Christ. And so through Him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” II Corinthians 1:20

  31. The Blessed Assurance James MacDonald gives us five approaches to the Blessed Assurancesof God that we will illustrate through scripture:

  32. The Blessed Assurance I will not fear: God is with me Lessons from Queen Esther: Willing to Perish

  33. The Blessed Assurance I will not doubt: God is in control Lessons from King David: Trusting in God

  34. The Blessed Assurance I will not despair: God is always good Lessons from The Woman at the Well: Looking at the Big Picture

  35. The Blessed Assurance I will not falter: God is always watching Lessons from Elisha: Seeing the Power of God

  36. The Blessed Assurance I will not fail: God is always victorious Lessons from The Shunamite Mother: God’s Plan is Always Perfect

  37. The Blessed Assurance What cares do you need to cast upon the Lord? What things do you need to Lay Down? What is your IT?

  38. The Blessed Assurance “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” Habakkuk 3:17-18

  39. The Blessed Assurance God is saying cast your cares upon Me for I am your Blessed Assurance. • Be still and know that I am God… • Let not your heart be troubled… • Abide in me…for without me you can do nothing… • Come unto me all you that are heavy burdened and I will give you rest… • I will keep you in perfect peace… • I will meet you at your point of need… • I will never leave you nor forsake you…

  40. The Blessed Assurance Cast your cares upon Me for I love you. Give it all to Jesus…He will work it out!

  47. In Word and In Deed women’s ministry When we speak these words, we are first acknowledging God’s existence and recognizing that He is the only one who can bring us innerpeace regardless of our external circumstances.
