  1. GREETINGS FROM COEP FAB MATTERS!

  2. FAB MATTERS! FAB5- The Fifth International FAB Lab Forum & Symposiumheld at COEP in August 2009

  3. COEP FAB Lab

  4. Projects @ COEP FAB Lab Circuits to control three stepper motors of Mini-mill Student: Harsha Sunder Controlled from EMC2. tiny44 and atmega88 chipset.

  5. Contd. EMC2 software interface with boards EMC2 software interface output at tool head replaced with pen replicates the profile on screen of EMC2 to the paper

  6. Engraving operation on Low cost desktop MinimillMachine Student: Miss. ShitalThote

  7. Low cost Racing steering Student: Akash Shetey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWczQ3jUB3Y

  8. Design Mockups of.. Kitchen waste recycling Machine Auto-locking system for a wheel chair

  9. Utilization of Fab lab facilities for COEP students’ projects 1. Robotics lab projects 2.COEP Satellite programme (partly funded by Indian Space Research Organisation)

  10. INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT BOARD OF MOTOR CONTROL Students: Mr. Hitesh KhatriMr. DhirajMahajan • Integrated development board which can control parameters of various different motors • The peripheral integrated circuit (PIC18F458) was used as a microprocessor to generated step pulses for the stepper motor, an angle for the RC servo motor and change duty cycle to vary the speed of the DC motor

  11. DESIGN AND DEVLOPMENT OF TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROLLER USING CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK DESIGN AND DEVLOPMENT OF TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROLLER USING CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK • Student: HARSHAL S. HEMANE • To solve the traffic congestion issue. • Develop a traffic light control system controlled by controller area network (CAN). • Traffic light controller operated by for push button • First and Second push button for operational state working in specified time • Third push button for preoperational state only yellow light is blinking • Fourth push button for stop Red light is on

  12. Scotch Yoke Mechanism for Demonstration Purpose • TheScotch yoke is a mechanism for converting the linear motion of a slider into rotational motion or vice-versa. • The Piston or other reciprocating part is directly coupled to a Yoke with a slot that engages a pin on the rotating part • The shape of the motion of the piston is a pure sine wave over time given a constant rotational speed

  13. Development of low Cost Wind Vane for local Meteorological applications Developed By: Miss. ApekshaBochare • The design of a wind vane is such that the weight is evenly distributed on each side of the surface. • Digital Display of wind direction. • Initial fabrication cost Appox. $50

  14. Virtual Fab Lab Project • Developed by: Mr. Sandip Anasane & Miss. ApekshaBochare • Almost All Fab Lab processes are in Virtual Environment available at http://coep.vlab.co.in • Virtual Shopbot • Virtual Modella • And many more…..

  15. SHOPBOT Dinosaur We are not Extinct!

  16. …FAB Passion Contd…

  17. Workshop conducted in FAB Lab on Practical approach to Machine Design by Mr. Sandip Anasane

  18. Workshop conducted in FAB Lab on Digital Fabrication by Mr.Sandip Anasane

  19. Nobel Laureate Roger Tsien at Fab Lab in Oct. 2010
