  3. Photographers create permanent visual images for an exceptionally wide range of creative, technical and documentary purposes. As there are different types of photographers, there are some that work full time, part time, freelance and on contract. PHOTOGRAPHERS

  4. The typical range of starting salary is between £10,500 and £21,250. It then rises from £25,000 to £65,000 EXPECTED SALARIES

  5. Gcse’s A*-C in photography and related subjects. • A levels/Btec • Although this area of work is open to all graduates and diplomats, qualifications in photography, art and design, fine art, digital imaging, graphics and media studies are essential. QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  6. Pursue at least one internship before you graduate and seek out other opportunities, such as working on independent portraits and other creative things. WORK EXPERIENCE

  8. I personally think that photography is a good career and are majority of opportunities within this media industry as you can work freelance, full time, part time etc… OWN OPINION

  10. The main responsibility of a film/video editor is to assemble recorded raw material into a finished product that’s suitable for broadcasting. FILM EDITORS

  11. Starting salaries for those employed by a television or post-production studio are in the region of £18,000 to £25,000. With experience as a film or video editor, you could earn £20,000 to £35,000. At a senior level, you could reach potential earnings of £37,000 to £70,000 but the higher end of this scale is only available to senior editors working on high-status projects. EXPECTED SALARIES

Gcse’s A*-C in film studies • A Level/Btec • For film/video editing you would need to be able to demonstrate that you have the necessary skills such as a degree or HND in communication and media studies, photography/film/television, fine art/visual art, information technology/multimedia and graphic design. QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  13. You need to be extremely determined to succeed in editing, so you'll have to show a willingness to get involved and be prepared to do the most basic of tasks. Carrying out work experience will help to demonstrate this and will help you to decide if the precision and intensity of the work is for you. Film and video editing isn't a starting role in the industry and it's common for students or graduates to gain some experience in a role such as a runner. You may also build up experience in other areas of media production before moving into editing WORK EXPERIENCE
