  7. Plagiarism • The School considers plagiarism as an unacceptable practice. Serious action will be taken against any student who is found to have taken material substantially from a source without giving it due acknowledgement. • We would like to inculcate the culture where students can be proud of their own work 2005 Final Year Project Briefing

To avoid plagiarism • Always cite the reference(s) of • the text you have summarised • programs, diagrams or figures taken from books, papers, website etc. • Summarise the text rather than copy verbatim or just alter the text very slightly. • Sparing use oforiginal (i.e. verbatim) quotes from a text must be shown in inverted commas.
