  3. Sometimes you drop the remainder An exhibit of old post cards is on display at a museum for 79 days. How many full weeks is that? There are 7 days in a week. So 79 days will be only 11 weeks and 2 days. 79 days is only 11 full weeks.

  4. Sometimes the remainder is the answer. Mrs. Pudwill has 86 post cards. She divided them equally among 4 children and keeps the extras. How many cards does she keep? Each child will get 21 cards. There are 2 extra for Mrs. Pudwill. The remainder is the answer. Mrs. Pudwill keeps 2 post cards.
