So he lets the man hypnotize him (to find what he really is), but Meg can’t take it, so she tackles him and returns him to normal. • Then the man serves them dinner, and they sit down. To Charles Wallace everything tastes like sand, but it tastes real to Meg and Calvin, which means that the Man with the Red Eyes can get to them, but not Charles Wallace. • Charles goes into the man again, but he makes sure Meg doesn’t stop him.

Chapter  - The Transparent Column • Setting- CENTRAL Central Intelligence • Calvin and Meg try to get Charles Wallace back, but the black-smocked men stop them. • The Man with the Red Eyes tells Charles to take them. In one cell, there was the boy that caused the “Aberration”. Every time he bounced his ball, he got hurt. • Then Charles makes a wall disappear (by rearranging the atoms) and there is another cell. In there was a column. And in the column was… • FATHER!!!!!!!!

  12. Chapter  - IT • Setting-CENTRAL Central Intelligence, “IT’s house” • Meg tries to get into the column, but she bounces back like a beach ball. • She tries to tackle Charles Wallace (like Calvin did when they were at the Man with the Red Eyes), but he punches her in the stomach. • Calvin tries to get him out again, but he almost did it. • Then Meg remembers Mrs.Who's glasses (one of the things that the Mrs.W’s gave them in Chapter ) and takes them out of her pocket and puts them on. • Charles Wallace (Reminder: the HYPNOTIZED Charles Wallace) chases her for the glasses. Chapter  • Setting- Ixchel, Camazotz, Murry property. • Out comes Mrs.Whatsit & Co. • Meg gives in to go to Camazotz and rescue Charles after Mrs.Whatsit asked. • Mrs.Whatsit told them that life is like a sonnet; it has strict ends and beginnings, but in the middle the poet has freedom to write whatever he wants. • Then Mrs.Which tessers Meg to Camazotz. Meg goes to the Domelike building that IT rests. • Inside she sees the familiar dais that IT lays on, and Charles Wallace sat under it. Then IT made it’s mistake. When Charles said that Mrs.Whatsit hates her, Meg had the answer: LOVE. That is how she got Charles Wallace back. • As soon as she hugged him, they appeared at the Twin’s vegetable garden, with Calvin and Mr.Murry. • As the family embraced, the Mrs.W’s appeared, only said a few words, not even completing a sentence, then left.

  15. Theme One important theme of A Wrinkle in Time is to ignore what other people think and carry your own uniqueness. One example is at the beginning, when Meg used to get in fights, gets sent to the principal’s office, and wishes she was like everybody else. Other themes are to never give-up, and never be afraid to face your fears. When Meg confronted IT, it was almost impossible to resist, but she never gave up and held out until her father tessered her to Ixchel. And in the last chapter, Meg faced her fears and battled against IT, this time succeeding in getting her brother back to her.

  16. How Charles changes. At first, Charles is a boy who is smart, but seldom speaks in front of other people; therefore they consider him dumb. But he is nice to other family members. Ex: “It was true that Charles Wallace seldom spoke when people were around…” (Pg.10) As the story progresses Charles Wallace likes to go to places secretly. Ex:”’Okay, hold it you two’, came a voice out of the shadows. Charles Wallace stepped into the moonlight”(Charles Wallace is supposed to be sleeping)(Pg.53). At the middle-end (75%) Charles Wallace becomes a little arrogant, believing he could go into IT and get out again. In the last chapter, Meg rescues him from IT. Then at their house, where there is almost no trouble, he becomes his old self again .

  17. Camazotz When Camazotz was introduced, it was said to be one of the planets that have given into IT and has become a dark planet. It Has. Every person there is the same to the next person. This is because IT is controlling them, to stop wars, and to keep harmony. EX:”’But please don’t distress yourself on our behalf. You know you don’t like looking at dark planets…’” (Pg.93). EX 2: ”’But that’s exactly what we have on Camazotz. Complete equality. Everybody exactly alike.‘“ (Pg.154) But Camazotz is also the most industrialized planets in the galaxy. It’s CENTRAL Central Intelligence Center is taller than the tallest building. EX 3: ‘“Our production level are the highest. Our factories never close; our machines never stop rolling.’” (Pg.103)
