  2. The Women at a Distance • There have been women present in the disciple group the whole time • They stay around longer than the men • They are powerless to change the situation • They run away in fear Jesus is Laid in the Tomb, Gwyneth Leech, 2005

Joseph at the Centre • There has been a faithful member of the Sanhedrin the whole time • He has been powerless to change the situation up to this point • He acts bravely to honour the body of Jesus • He shows a new possibility for discipleship The Descent from the Cross, Peter Paul Rubens, 1613

  5. Where’s the Ending? No Time Lost Original Mark had another ending in mind, but was somehow prevented from finishing his gospel. Mark wrote a longer ending to the gospel, but it was somehow lost in the process of being copied. Mark wrote his gospel to deliberately finish at 16:8, for some reason.
