  1. Things to Know About Math Word Problem Solver This section will illustrate how word problems can be solved using block diagrams. Students, who have not yet learn algebra, can use the block diagrams or tape diagrams to help them visualize the problems in terms of the information given and the data to be found. This allows the student to decide which operators to use: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, or Division. Block diagrams or tape diagrams are used in Singapore Math problem solver and Common Core Math. The method to solve word problems. The blocks can assist the students in visualizing and solving the word problems without using algebra. Some of the examples are Addition, Subtraction Word Problems, Multiplication, Division Word Problems, Mixed Operation Word Problems, Fraction Word Problems, Decimal WordProblems, Word Problems, according to Grades, Age Word Problems, and AverageWord Problems. Now some examples and solutions of additional word problems are discussed. It will be also be discussed how to solve the problem in one step. IT will help the students to visualize the addition word problems in terms of the information given and the data needs to be found. Let’s take an example. Suppose there are 1500 books in a library. If we buy 145 more books, then how many books the library has? Solution: 1500+145= 1645.

  2. There are 1645 books in the library. Let’s take another example. Suppose there are 30 girls and 40 boys in a class. How are many total number of students in the class? Solution: 30+40 = 70 There are 70 total students in the class. Now some examples and solutions of additional word problems are discussed. Let’s take an example. Roy has 300 beads. Sixty beads are blue and the rest are red. How many red beads does he have? Solution: 300-60 = 240. Now he has 240 red beads. Now some examples and solutions of multiplication word problems are discussed. Let’s take an example. The pen is for 5$. How much does it cost for 145 pens? Solution: 145*5 = 725

  3. Therefore 145 pens would cost 725$. Another example will be, If Jason delivers 200 newspapers in a day, how many newspaper will he deliver after ten days? Solution: 200 x 10= 2000. He will deliver 2000 papers after ten days. Now some examples and solutions of division word problems are discussed. Let’s take an example. There are 120 cupcakes on Christmas Eve. Twelve children are also there. How many packets of cakes will everyone have? Solution: 120 / 12 = 10 Therefore each of the children would have ten packets of the cupcake. Examples of mixed operations word problems that can be solved in three or more steps. We will illustrate how block diagrams can be used to help you to visualize the word problems in terms of the information given and the data that needs to be found. Block diagrams or block modeling are used in Singapore Math solver online. Block diagrams are also called Tape Diagrams in Common Core. Let’s take an example. There were 50 mangoes in each crate. Ten such crates of mangoes were delivered to a factory. Four mangoes were rotten and had to be thrown away. The remaining mangoes were packed into boxes of 10 mangoes each. How many boxes of mangoes were there?

  4. Solution: First total number of mangoes delivered should be Math word problem solver. Block diagrams are also called Tape Diagrams in Common Core. Let’s take an example. There were 42 mangoes in each crate. Twelve such crates of mangoes were delivered to a factory. Four mangoes were rotten and had to be thrown away. The remaining mangoes were packed into boxes of 10 mangoes each. How many boxes of mangoes were there? Solution: First total number of mangoes delivered should be calculated. The number of mangoes is 12* 42 = 504. Next, it is important to calculate the good mangoes that can be delivered. The good mangoes are 504-4= 500. The number of boxes of mangoes will be 500 / 10= 50. Therefore there will be 50 boxes will be needed. In these lessons, we will learn word problems that involve mixed operations. Here are some examples of mixed operations word problems. These problems are slightly more challenging, but they also illustrate how helpful the block diagrams can be. The block diagrams or tape diagrams (Common Core) can be used to help solve word problems that would usually require algebra. Let’s take an example. Two bowls and three plates cost $1421. The cost of the plate is half the cost of the bowl. What is the cost of the bowl? Solution: This kind of problem needs more than one step to calculate the solution. For the first step, it is important to draw a block diagram to get the number of bowls and plants. As it is known that there are seven blue blocks = 1421. 1 blue blocks = 1421 /7= 203

  5. Therefore the cost of each bowl is 203 * 2= 406$.
