  2. Overview • Goal: Energy Saving • Use a person’s everyday workout to generate clean electrical power • Ideally used in a gym with many machines, and can be modified to fit the various exercise equipment (i.e. Bike, Elliptical). • Circuit Block Diagram

  5. Conclusion • Economical Outcome Power generated by avg. Person on ½ hp generator = 200W Cost of Energy in Illinois = $.11/kW*hr 80% Efficient Machine saves $.02/hr • Practical example: CRCE With 50 machines and 10 hour use a day, 100 kW*hr generated Daily Savings = $11 Monthly Savings = $330 • Carbon emission By using the bike, between 100 and 200 lbs of Carbon Dioxide is not released by Power Companies daily
