  2. Step 1 • Create a setting • Place • Time of day • Past present or future

  3. Step 2 • Create character #1 • Describe this person in one sentence.

  4. Step 3 • Create character #2 • Describe this person in one sentence.

  5. Step 4- • One of the characters wants something. Describe what it is.

  6. Step 5 • Write 6 exchanges of dialogue between character 1 and 2.

  7. Step 6 • Have one of your characters report a new piece of information unknown to the other character.

  8. Step 7 • Insert a stage direction. Something has to happen or an action needs to occur. Ex: Phone rings

  9. Step 8- • Write 2 exchanges of dialogue continuing the scene.

  10. Step 9 • End the scene: Lights out. Fade to black. Black out.
