  2. Task • You are to get into groups of three. • Each decade has a number of things that are important and impact the future, your job is to pick a decade from the 20th century and to research and create a timeline of the important events you have chosen. • You are to have between 8 and12 events on your timeline. • Be sure to have the date of your events and a sentence about what happened.

  3. Task Continued • Your timeline must be made so that it can be posted in the classroom. • Each group will have separate jobs: • Typist: This person’s job is to type on the computer when doing research. • Writer: This person’s job is to write all of the information you find from the internet in to your journals so you don’t forget any information. • Artist: This person’s job is to design and create the timeline. • All of the jobs are important, but everyone needs to help out their teammates- this is not a one person project!

Process Photo courtesy of http://www.pevomuc.de/100-Cadillac/PECAAR.00/1910-A/1910-1.html • After your group chooses the decade you all wish to explore, you will sign up for your decade with Ms. Lester. • You will next use the internet to research important facts about events that happened during your decade. • The decades that you have to choose from are as follows: • 1910s 1950s 1990s • 1920s 1960s • 1930s 1970s • 1940s 1980s Photo courtesy of http://www.audiobooksonline.com/1555699987.html

  6. Conclusion • The timelines you make will be put up around the class and we will use them when we are learning about different things that happened during these times. • These timelines will help us because we will already know a little bit about the time when we get to that decade in social studies.
