Avoyelles 4-HCloverbudProgram • Group Size: • 6-8 children per adult volunteer. • Time Frame: • This lesson is designed for a group meeting between 30 minutes and 60 minutes. Each activity will take about 5-15 minutes to complete. Objectives: Develop appreciation for different types of fruits and vegetables. Learn the use of different parts of plants. Learn about the growth of plants. Experience and develop appreciation for the taste of various foods. Develop motor skills through the art and food activities. Activity: “Plant Parts” – Materials-a variety of vegetables and fruits. Discuss the different parts of plants which we eat. Show the group an example plant part. Then have different sample which fit into each category and have the group place the plant in the right category. For cost savings pictures may be used.
