  3. 162nd Brigade Task Organization, Mission and METL I HHC I X 1002 TICO 52 162 OCT 6 353 5 353 JOINT SFA COURSE II II II II II II OCT SFA-BN 4 353 1 353 353 3 PACOM and EUCOM Afghanistan/CENTCOM Afghanistan Afghanistan WESTHEM and AFRICOM OCT 353 2 • Mission: The 162d Infantry Brigade trains Advisor Skills, Combat Skills, and Security Force Assistance skills to provide Army and Joint Force Commanders with trained personnel and units to build security capacity in designated countries. • 162nd Mission Essential Task List • Conduct Mission Command • Train individual Advisors and Security Force Assistance Teams deploying to Afghanistan • Train Regionally Aligned Forces for Geographic Combatant Command Areas of Responsibility • On order, train and deploy Soldiers and teams from the brigade to conduct Security Force Assistance / Security Cooperation missions in accordance with FORSCOM guidance • Sustain the Brigade

Security Force Assistance Training • OUTPUT • - CENTCOM, ISAF, IJC and RC CDRs receive Brigades and SFA teams trained IAW the ISAF Joint Command Training Guidance • Brigades and SFA teams trained on Afghan systems and linkages to ISAF enablers • Brigades and SFA teams understand whole force approach to ANSF development Graduate Level SFA Training Advisor and Security Force Assistance Fundamentals • Culminating Training Event • Build proficiency through repetition • Exercise SFA teams at all echelons • Application of Afghan Systems • Linked scenarios • Complex Coordination • Vertical Collaboration • Enabler support • Command Post Exercise/ • Situational Training Exercise • Communication systems and networks established • Reporting • Standard Operating Procedures developed • ANSF Led Operations SFA Brigade CAPABILITIES Security Force Assistance Course - Afghan Systems - Army - Police - Advisor Skills - Capacity Building Skills Combat Skills Training - Theater Training Requirements Leader Training Program TIME Unit Home Station JRTC and Fort Polk (162nd / OPS GRP) OUTPUT per Phase FORSCOM individual and collective pre-deployment training requirements completed SFA teams trained by type/echelon and are capable of advising ANSF in theater specific Area of Responsibility SFA teams understand ANSF systems, Advisor Skills, Combat Skills, and SFA Skills SFA teams conduct combat focused training to develop and refine SOPs
