  4. Materials: • Books, The Hat and The Mitten by Jan Brett • Large piece of butcher paper • Markers

  5. Procedure: • Read The Hat by Jan Brett to the students. • Discuss The Hat with the students. • Read The Mitten by Jan Brett to the students. • Discuss The Mitten with the students.

  6. Assessment: Use a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast The Hat and The Mitten.
