This Year’s Expectations • Attendance is imperative everyday • Arrive to class on time and with materials • Warm-Up exercises without being told • Complete Agenda – DAILY • Pay attention and be engaged in class • Ask for help • Work Cooperatively in GROUPS? • Respect others • Do your BEST at all times

  11. Materials • Spiral notebooks • Composition Journal • Binder • PENCILS everyday • Homework folder • Markers, etc. for projects, glue sticks • Notebook paper • Kleenex • Hand-Sanitizer

  12. Warm-Up Time? • Warm-ups - Required Daily - usually located on the board • You need… • A pencil (sharpened)  • Paper • Spiral/Journal • All other materials requested by teachers

What Do I Do If… • Restroom Breaks • Not while I’m teaching • If there is an emergency, you must sign in and out • If any problems occur while you are out of the room, you will only be allowed out with an escort • Restroom break policy is determined by the office • SHOW RESPECT TO ALL SCHOOL PROPERTY Clean up after yourself NO TAGGING NO Graffiti DO NOT WASTE SUPPLIES Report any problems to your teacher immediately

  14. What Do I Do When… • I’m absent • Make up all work • It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET ALL ASSIGNMENTS • Ask to copy notes • Ask for assignments/worksheets • TURN IN WORK! • Sharpening Pencils • Before Class – during transitions – keep several in your zipper pouch

  15. Homework Policy Edgewood ISD and Winston Elementary have a homework policy that states: 20-30 minutes of homework will be given each night in the core subjects: Reading, Math, Science, History A Homework Agenda is MANDATORY

Discipline • Verbal classroom Warnings • Student/Teacher Conference • Parent Phone Call • Referral to counselor • Parent/Student/Teacher/Team Conference • Detention (after school or lunch) • Office Referral NOTE: • Depending on the infraction, a detention may be assigned or if the infraction is severe, then any step may be skipped and an office referral issued.
