  3. The news presenters addresses the audience directly by looking straight at the camera. The camera always returns to a medium close up of one or two of the presenters Professionalism The news is constructed to appear formal and professional which gives the sense of reliability. Mode of Address

  4. Most news programmes claim to act as unbiased reporters of information. However it is often acceptable for the news to support what is considered the universal view. For example the BBC may not be criticised for say suicide bombing was a “nasty” event because this is considered the universal view. Unbiased

  5. If a story is of great importance it will continue over a number of shows or reappear in the same show. Consistency

  6. Documentary Professionalism Documentaries often use the convention of professionalism, people who are interviewed address the camera directly and are often filmed in professional environments. The narrator in the documentary appear as a kind of voice of god character who comes across as trustworthy.
