  3. Quality of Life The idea that life must have some benefits for it to be worth living

  4. Euthanasia The act of granting a death, with minimal pain, to one who is suffering

  5. Immortality of the Soul The idea that the spirit lives on for ever after the death of the body

  6. Non-voluntary Euthanasia The act of ending someone’s life painlessly when they are unable to ask, but you think they would want you to do so – life support machine

  7. Resurrection The Christian belief that the soul rises up after death to be judged on Judgement Day

  8. Reincarnation The hindu belief that, after death, souls are reborn into new bodies

  9. Near-death Experience When someone has an out of body experience

  10. Sanctity of Life The belief that life is holy or sacred and belongs to God

  11. Assisted Suicide The act of providing a seriously ill person with the means to commit suicide

  12. Abortion The termination of a pregnancy by the removal of a foetus form the womb before it can survive

  13. Voluntary Euthanasia The situation where someone dying in pain asks a doctor to end their life painlessly
