  2. Massandra Sherry (1775) Massandra Sherry (1775) Massandra Sherry de la Frontera 1775, popularly known as the Massandra Sherry 1775 is one of the most expensive wines of Sotheby’s London in 2001. It came from the collection of Massandra Winery which is well known for its large collection (over a million) of both Russian and European vintage wines bearing the Imperial seal.

  3. Chateau d’Yquem (1784) Wines from Château d‘yquem are characterised by their complexity, concentration and sweetness. A relatively high acidity helps to balance the wine's sweetness. Another characteristic for which Château d'Yquem wines are known is their longevity. With proper care, a bottle will keep for a century or more.

  4. Chateau Lafite (1869) It’s no understatement to say that Château Lafite Rothschild is one of the iconic wines of the modern era. When the hammer came down on the extraordinary sale of a bottle of 1869 Château Lafite, history was made. It is the most expensive 750ml bottle of wine on the planet. Chateau Lafite (1869)

  5. Montrachet (198) The Montrachet vineyard is the jewel in the Crown of Burgundy's white wines. It is one of five Grand Cru sites (climats) located in a cluster around the Mont Rachet hill above Puligny-Montrachet. These vineyards produce some of the most expensive and rare wines in the world, often regarded as the ultimate expression of the Chardonnay grape variety. Montrachet (1978)

  6. Romanee Cont, DRC (1990) One of the prime reasons for the high price of this wine is the extremely low yield of the soil in the area of France Romanee Cont, DRC (1990) Domaine de la Romanée-Conti

  7. Screaming Eagle Cab (1994) 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon, a perfect wine. Representing the essence of cassis liqueur intermixed with blackberries, minerals, licorice and toast, this full-bodied, multi-dimensional Classic is fabulous, with extraordinary purity, symmetry and a finish that lasts for nearly a minute.
